SetupCapsule helps users record installed-app information and preserve selected supported settings for later restoration. Restoration success can depend on Windows, third-party package availability, application versions, permissions, and external services.
SetupCapsule clearly identifies unsupported or manual items where possible. Users should keep independent backups of important personal data. SetupCapsule is not a replacement for a full personal-file or disk-image backup.
Reinstallation may use Windows Package Manager and third-party package sources. Third-party applications remain subject to their own licenses and terms.
A capsule stored only on the Windows system drive may be lost if that drive fails. SetupCapsule recommends keeping at least one safe copy outside the system drive.
